I was born to Jamaican parents and brought up in multi-cultural Birmingham.
My first experience of cooking was watching my mother prepare traditional West Indian dishes. The vibrant colours and enticing aromas that wafted around the house awoke in me a life-long love of food.
I studied at the Birmingham College of Food and have worked in a variety of exciting roles and restaurants, including Rustie Lee’s Caribbean Restaurant, launched ‘Frontiers’ at the Drum Caribbean Arts Centre and took international cuisine across the UK with ‘Wok at Work’.
Whilst working at Elstree Studios in London, I prepared meals for many celebrities and actors, including the cast of BBC’s Eastenders. I’ve also cooked for Daly Thompson, Chris Akabusi, the cast and crew of BBC’s The Hustle and Doctors, the cast of crew of Channel 4’s The Renovation game, Chef Marco Pierre White, Levi Roots and UB40 musician Astro.
In 2007 I seized the opportunity to run my own concept restaurant, the Wildmoor Oak. My aim was to bring the very best in British, Caribbean and Internation cuisine to a rural Worcestershire location.
